A Salesman just came to the door. I answered the door.
"Hello, is your mom or dad at home?"
Now instead of just laughing and telling him I am the Mom...or something normal.
I freeze up and lie.
I say, "No."
"Do you know when they will be back?"
I say, "I don't know."
"If I come back after 5pm will they be here?"
I say, "Yes."
Then he gives me a spill about how he is a student from somewhere in Europe and he is selling educational programs for children.
"And how old are your brothers and sisters?"
I pause...and then say, "We just have a two year old."
I am such a dork. I hope I won't have to continue the charade if he comes back.
Apparently I look young, or maybe just younger than European women.

That is awesome. What a compliment. I have a tendency to do the same thing with salesmen.
How dare you lie like that. j/k. it's funny how sometimes we get cought up in the moment and find ourselves carrying on in ways that we would not normally behave. Then even while we are doing it we think to ourselves, what am I doing, and you hope it will just all go away and you won't have to deal with it again. It makes me feel more compassionate toward the kids sometimes when they tell me fibs or respond with the phrase, I don't know why I did it, it just happened. Your not the only one that this happens to, I'm sure it's a very common occurrence.
I wanted to tell you that I had the same thing happen to me while we were living there. I don't remember what I said but I remember laughing about it with Andrew later. I guess we don't look old enough to be living in a house that big.

hahaha that is so funny! hahaha I guess I have NO desire to look younger than I am. I want people to think I'm actually old enough to have 2 kids. :)
Oh my gosh that was funny! Oh well huh?
Was he blonde? We had one come over yesterday and I told him I wasn't feeling well, which was true as my eye was watering because Ian had scratched my cornea.
The sales guy was very persistent!
